The Machine Intelligence Research Group (MInG), is an active research group currently based in the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi. The group was initially established in the year 2006, providing a platform for bringing together faculty members and students interested in conducting cutting edge research in the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence

  • Machine Learning

  • Computational Intelligence

  • Data Mining & Knowledge Discovery

  • Multi-Agent Systems

  • Machine Vision & Robotics

  • Applied Intelligence

  • Affective Computing

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems 

The group has so far successfully produced nine Ph.D. graduates and more than 30 MS scholars. All of them working in various national and international organizations. MInG strives to provide a platform to the research where fresh scholars get the opportunity to learn and groom themselves under the supervision of experienced computer scientists. Current focus of the group in on topic relating (but not limited to): Data Science, Machine Learning, Computational Intelligence, Affective Computing, Bioinformatics, and  Intelligent Transportation Systems

This project deals with the evolution of entertaining games using the concept of tangible tiles. Here, tangible tiles are used to construct an interactive playground where the player can play different games and also give feedback related to each game.

This project profiles players using data collected from strategy games. This is done by taking into account the gameplay and the associations between the personality traits and the subjects playing the game.
